About

Desireé Nash is a person.  She is a director, a writer, an animator and a video editor. Sometimes she performs.

Desireé is from Corpus Christi, Texas, birthplace of Whataburger® and frizzy hair.  Although very fond of her Texan roots, she was like "Nope!" and moved to New York City right after high school.  There she attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where she majored in Auditioning.

A classically trained singer, Desireé spent her early years gracing the stage in various musicals.  Her favorites being Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Into the Woods, Annie, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Nightfall on Miranga Island which showed at The New York International Fringe Festival.  You can* see her perform regularly with her improv groups First Lady (Upright Citizens Brigade), Hello (Peoples Improv Theater), and BEEES!!! (Magnet Theater).  She is also often featured in The Made-Up Musical at The Magnet Theater (www.magnettheater.com) and travels with The Magnet Touring Company.  Desireé was a regular performer with Baby Wants Candy (www.babywantscandy.com) for 3 years.  She has worked with The Second City  (www.secondcity.com) as well as participated yearly in Lincoln Center’s Meet the Artist Series.

You might also recognize her as Marin in the film Fort Tilden (Grand Jury Winner, SXSW)

As a writer, she has written two solo shows:  Check Please! and Disarray by Desireé based on a song by Des'ree.  She also co-wrote (with author Phil Wells)  the play My Daughter, My Wife.  A Three-Act farce that included the line "I was in the bathroom...pooping".  All of these shows were received well (she thinks).

As a filmmaker, Dez has written and directed three short films: Dumped (an Official Selection of the 2017 Woman Texas Film Festival), Sort of Friends, and Brain on Drugs (an Official Selection of the 2019 Bad Film Festival).

This is her IMDB page.  She has a lot of credits because she is very successful.

She sometimes makes funny videos, which can be found here or here.

She illustrates;  some drawings can be found here.

She was most recently at The Sundance Institute and FX Networks.
